God Give us Christian Homes

Join this HeartCry Prayer - Every Saturday 10:30pm - 12:30am (UK time)

Genesis 1:27–31(NLT)
“So God created human being in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”Then God said, “Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. And I have given every green plant as food for all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, and the small animals that scurry along the ground—everything that has life.” And that is what happened. Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!”

The home at the beginning in Genesis - this was God’s plan from the start, to have dominion and subdue the darkness that covered the earth.

We also saw how in Genesis 3, Satan came and gained access into God’s vessels and thwarted things. But glory to God, the Master strategist, He had a plan to gain back these vessels so they will keep having dominion and subdue the darkness. Jesus came and defeated this darkness at the cross. Romans 5-6.

 Prayers

·        Thank God that He redeemed the family, our home, through Jesus – so that our homes accomplish His original plan of dominion and fruitfulness – homes that the men and women, boys and girls, young and old, have yielded to Jesus. Thank Him for homes that are already ‘’bruising the serpent’s head. Thank Him.

·         Isaiah 52:1-6 (NIV) – “Awake, awake, Zion, clothe yourself with strength! Put on your garments of splendour, Jerusalem, the holy city. The uncircumcised and defiled will not enter you again. Shake off your dust; rise up, sit enthroned, Jerusalem. Free yourself from the chains on your neck, Daughter Zion, now a captive. For this is what the LORD says: “You were sold for nothing, and without money you will be redeemed.” For this is what the Sovereign LORD says:“At first my people went down to Egypt to live; lately, Assyria has oppressed them. “And now what do I have here?” declares the LORD. “For my people have been taken away for nothing, and those who rule them mock, declares the LORD.“And all day long my name is constantly blasphemed. Therefore my people will know my name; therefore in that day they will know that it is I who foretold it. Yes, it is I.”

For homes that are yet to see this victory of the cross, that the eyes of their understanding will be opened to see the finished work of Calvary, to know that the deceiver is the one peddling lies and deceiving people. Isaiah 52: 5- 6(TLB)“And now, what is this? asks the Lord. Why are my people enslaved again and oppressed without excuse? Those who rule them shout in exultation, and my name is constantly blasphemed day by day. Therefore I will reveal my name to my people, and they shall know the power in that name. Then at last they will recognize that it is I, yes, I, who speaks to them.”
Jesus has paid the price for restoration of our homes. Lord, help us to indeed arise (Isaiah 60).

·         Lord, help our men, women, children – all those that make up the home; to arise to their duty posts as God intended in the beginning. The men, like Gideon, will be available, evacuated for the Masters use. The women, that they will be quiet, still and yet available and usable in His hands, not hasty, not distracted, not busy, not giving our Abrahams unwise counsel - like sleeping with the slave girl to achieve God’s purpose. The children; that like Solomon who took heed of his father David’s counsel, that they will obediently follow wise counsel, even as they are outside the home. Deuteronomy 6:6-9 (TLB).

·         For homes needing comfort – that have lost a loved one, that the Comforter that has come to help us will help them even at this time   2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (AMP) – “Blessed [gratefully praised and adored] be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts and encourages us in every trouble so that we will be able to comfort and encourage those who are in any kind of trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” Those whose loved ones are facing persecutions, arrested, imprisoned – that God will comfort and strengthen them (John 15:20; 2 Corinthians 4:9). Those whose loved ones are sick and needing healing (Isaiah 53:5; Psalm 103:3).

·         Lord, help us to put on the whole armour that You have freely given us for battle – Ephesians 6:10-17 (TLB). It all starts and ends with Jesus, the Word of God, the Son of David, the living Word.

The Godly home is a lethal weapon against the devil, he knows this and this is why he is relentless at destroying it. God, give us Christian homes!

Job and His Family

Join this HeartCry Prayer - Every Saturday 10:30pm - 12:30am (UK time)

Job 1vs 1-5, 2:7-10

Job and His Family in Uz

1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil. 2 And seven sons and three daughters were born to him. 3 Also, his possessions were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and a very large household, so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the East. 4 And his sons would go and feast in their houses, each on his appointed day, and would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 5 So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed[a] God in their hearts.” Thus Job did regularly. Job 2: 7-10 7 So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown. 8 And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes. 9 Then said his wife unto him, dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. 10But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

Lessons from this Scripture:-
·        Job was a man who was full of integrity – a man of honest report, truthful and sincere in his dealing with God and man.
·        He feared and worshipped God – he was obedient and faithful to the call of God.
·       He hates any thing called evil (sin).
·       Job is also a family man; he has one wife and seven children.
·       He had great possession and various business ventures; he was very rich yet he did not allow his wealth to take hold of his life. The fear of the God was core to his heart and nothing else even his wealth unlike the young rich ruler in Matthew 19:16-22 who was encumbered by his possession that he had the Lord Jesus ministering LIVE AND LIFE but could not follow due to his love for his wealth.
·       Job is an example of a rich man who entered the kingdom of God, despite Jesus saying in Matthew that it will be very hard for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. This was made possible by the positioning of Job’s heart on heavenly things.
·       He trained his children to live in love and unity, no quarrels among them.
·       Job was concern for the spiritual welfare/wellbeing of the children.
·       He was the priest of the house; all his children come to the altar as at when he called them.
·       He was a father who consistently intercedes for his household.
·       However, Mrs Job did not agree with her husband’s vision.
·       In fact we do not know her name.
·       She seems to be a woman who only knows God in time of comfort and she showed her displeasure when comfort and riches are seized to flow. She is like those people who would say that I may know him and the power of his resurrection however have nothing to do with the fellowship of his suffering and cannot be made conformable unto his death.
·       She is a woman who attends family prayer alter yet her heart is far from God.
·       Lord do not allow me to listen to the whispers and lies of the tempter.
·       She was not kind to her husband and spoke harshly to him – to curse God and die.
·       Job response to the wife was to admonish her and explained God’s goodness and greatness to her.

Prayers:

·       Thank you Lord for your tender mercy over our families.
·       Thank you Lord because you have brought light into our homes and you are guiding our homes into the way of peace and righteousness.
·       Lord envision the head of our families just like you did for Job as the head of his family.
·        The head of Christ is God and he replicated the life of the father to us therefore Christ is the head of man and he want to replicate his life through the man to his family. Lord we are asking that our heads (husbands) shall replicate your own very life to us. John 14:7-11 and 1 Corinthian 11:3
·       Lord give our husbands a sincere heart to follow you all the way.
·       Lord forbid it that i will be like Job’s wife.
·       Lord help me that what comes from the heart of my mouth will be to encourage, love and respect the authority that you have placed over me no matter the situation.
·       Lord let my response silence the accuser of my soul.
·       Job said in the past I heard about you, but now I have seen you with my own eyes. Job 42:5.

Our Homefront

Join this HeartCry Prayer - Every Saturday 10:30pm - 12:30am (UK time)

There are many homes today that the Lord is the King of and there are many that the Lord is a visitor in.
We desire that the Lord will be the king of not a visitor to our homes.
The Lord is king of heaven and we want Him to be same in our homes and be the centre that everything else revolves around as it is in heaven.

Mark 1v29-31 – Peter’s home

In Peter’s home, Jesus was the Master – his authority was not in question because after He was told the problem he went into the room where Peter’s mother in law was lying and he held her by the hand and the fever left her and her strength was restored.  She immediately got up and took care of other’s needs. Peter’s mother in law’s response to Jesus was to wait on Jesus and his disciples – immediately.

Even fever recognises and respects the authority of Jesus, he didn’t have to say anything but the fever couldn’t stay where Jesus was. After Jesus left Peter’s house the fever didn’t sneak back because His presence remained in the house. No wonder his family couldn’t prevent Peter from following the Lord because they had experienced him first hand.

·         Lord I pray that we will experience and encounter you first hand again.
·         Father please allow anyone attached to me to encounter you first hand as well.
·         Lord because of Peter you entered their home, can you please enter our home, heart, house and vicinity because of us.
·         Father deal with every spiritual and physical ‘fever’ in the lives of our loved ones.
·         Let the response of our loved ones and anyone acquainted with us be to receive Christ and His gospel.

Within our homes are our husbands and children and maybe in some cases mothers and fathers in law. Let us pray for the children within our homes, young or old, living at home or moved from home. The only thing that holds a home together is the unity and love that Christ provides, anything else is like cotton wool, it dissipates

Prov 8v17 – “I love those who love me and those who seek me find me”

The Lord wants to be sought by all particularly in this close of day as His return is imminent and drawing near.

·         Let us pray that our children will love the Lord enough to seek him for themselves without being asked, forced, begged, bribed or cajoled.
·         Let the hearts of this generation return to You O Lord.

Prov 8v32 – “Now then my sons, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways”
Many a times they may think God is too strict and his demands are burdensome, but we know what Jesus said in his invitation,(Matt 11v28-30) come to me all ye who are weary and are heavy laden…..

·         Father help them to heed your invitation and listen to You.
·         Lord please permit them to keep Your ways not theirs.
·         Despite all their ‘busyness’ let them find rest in You.
·         Let the hold of the cyber world on them be halted and terminated.
·         Help them to hand over their lives to you willingly and voluntarily.

Jairus home – Luke 8v40-43, 49-52
He had a home that hope, trust and faith prevailed in – Jesus spoke to him saying, “Don’t be afraid, just have faith”

·         Lord help us hold on to You in spite of the ‘obvious’ whatever that may be in our homes and lives since we are to occupy till You return.
·         “We must walk by faith and not by sight for the things we see are temporary, Lord I believe and so I say that I live by faith and not by sight” – Father let this be our strength and testimony from today in our homes that we live and walk by faith.
·         Father in our homes, whatever we experience help us to turn to You and stay in/with You always.
·         Lord Jesus You are the Resurrection and the Life, please let Your resurrection power be at work in our homes till You return.
·         I desire to put my hope, trust and faith in You Lord, let nothing hinder me from doing so.
·         Help me to stand on Your promise that cannot fail.

Joshua 24v15b – “As for me and my household we will serve the Lord”

·         God Almighty make my home like that above where God is supreme and Christ is worshipped and adored.
·         Lord Jesus become our ministry afresh and anew - carrying You in our body and proclaiming You to the world in our generation.
·         Lord in the order of Joshua I declare that as for me and my house we will serve You and make You known to the world.

Psalm 127v1 – Unless the Lord builds the house….

·         Without You we can do nothing therefore we ask You to be the architect of our homes and lives.
·         You are the foundation upon which we desire to build our homes therefore Lord please build, sustain, and uphold our homes until You return.

2 Cor 6v16-18 – ……. As God said, I will live in them and walk among them, I will be their God, and they will be  my people, therefore come out from among the unbelievers and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don’t touch their filthy things and I will welcome you. And I will be your Father and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty”

·         Lord as You have called us we heed Your call and separate ourselves from the attractions of the world, Father help us draw near and remain close to You in our hearts and homes.
·         Thank you for promising to live in us and walk among us, we welcome Your presence.
·         You are our Father, we and our home remain Your willing and obedient children now and forever.
·         Thank You Father God for hearing us tonight and always.
