God's Present-Help for Struggling Homes

Hebrews 4: 14 – 16 (The Message Version)

14-16 Now that we know what we have—JESUS, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.
God is encouraging us to walk daily in Him with the understanding of our divine privileges, most especially when we find ourselves struggling. He wants us to take after His divine nature in our earthly state and remain victorious until the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“God is able to save completely all who come to God through Him. Since he will live forever, He will always be there to remind God that He has paid for their sins with HIS BLOOD” – Hebrews 7:25 (The Living Bible).
In our relationship with Heaven, we are to constantly walk in the footsteps of Jesus during the trials of our faith, not to debase ourselves but to keep our dignity intact in the regular practice of the principles of God.
To do all we can to avoid the danger of losing our stand and the authority that we have in Him as believers and family of God.
The GREAT OFFICE OF CHRIST is our ground for approaching the throne of Grace, we must keep our confidence safe in the arms of the Mediator (JESUS), as those that have been truly reconciled to God and completely sorted by the blood of Jesus – Romans 5:10 (The Living Bible)
“And since when we were His enemies, we were brought back to God by the death of His son, what blessings He must have for us now that we are His friends and He is living within us! – Romans 5:10 (The Living Bible)
*Thank God for the HELP God has made provision for, since the foundation of the world. Show heartfelt appreciation to Him for the great privilege that we enjoy as a family of God through JESUS CHRIST*
PRAYER:
  • Lord help me and my household to trust You without any reservations. Grant every one of us the divine insight of all the roles the PRIESTHOOD OF CHRIST played in the salvation of our souls, our home and our family.
  • Lord, help us as a family to overcome constantly in our daily encounter with the world around us. Let us be mindful of the divine nature that we carry in CHRIST, and help us to remain undefiled as a family.
  • Lord, fill our thoughts with the wonders of Your love so as to remain rooted during trials and temptations. Guard our words and deeds whenever our faith is being tested, and strengthen us until we fully overcome.

(Pray for Christian homes that are passing through trials at this time...)
  • Lord, fortify every member of my household against anything that is set to degrade us/our family. Help us to be committed duly to regular practice of Your truth and the principles of Heaven. Let nothing make us lose our position in You as a family.
  • Lord, open our eyes to the divine setting that is readily made available for my home and family. Help us to constantly lay hold on the sovereignty of the throne of Grace in these last days – let nothing stand as a barrier to our ground for approaching You every day of our lives.
  • Lord, please open everything in us to the complete deliverance that Christ had “offered once and for all”. DELIVER US COMPLETELY FROM OUR INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY STRUGGLES in Jesus' mighty name.

Homes Engrafted in Christ

Romans 11:16-36 (The Living Bible)
16 And since Abraham and the prophets are God’s people, their children will be too. For if the roots of the tree are holy, the branches will be too. 17 But some of these branches from Abraham’s tree, some of the Jews, have been broken off. And you Gentiles who were branches from, we might say, a wild olive tree, were grafted in. So now you, too, receive the blessing God has promised Abraham and his children, sharing in God’s rich nourishment of his own special olive tree. 18 But you must be careful not to brag about being put in to replace the branches that were broken off. Remember that you are important only because you are now a part of God’s tree; you are just a branch, not a root.19 “Well,” you may be saying, “those branches were broken off to make room for me, so I must be pretty good.” 20 Watch out! Remember that those branches, the Jews, were broken off because they didn’t believe God, and you are there only because you do. Do not be proud; be humble and grateful—and careful. 21 For if God did not spare the branches he put there in the first place, he won’t spare you either. 22 Notice how God is both kind and severe. He is very hard on those who disobey, but very good to you if you continue to love and trust him. But if you don’t, you too will be cut off. 23 On the other hand, if the Jews leave their unbelief behind them and come back to God, God will graft them back into the tree again. He has the power to do it. 24 For if God was willing to take you who were so far away from him—being part of a wild olive tree—and graft you into his own good tree—a very unusual thing to do—don’t you see that he will be far more ready to put the Jews back again, who were there in the first place? 25 I want you to know about this truth from God, dear brothers, so that you will not feel proud and start bragging. Yes, it is true that some of the Jews have set themselves against the Gospel now, but this will last only until all of you Gentiles have come to Christ—those of you who will. 26 And then all Israel will be saved. Do you remember what the prophets said about this? “There shall come out of Zion a Deliverer, and he shall turn the Jews from all ungodliness. 27 At that time I will take away their sins, just as I promised.” 28 Now many of the Jews are enemies of the Gospel. They hate it. But this has been a benefit to you, for it has resulted in God’s giving his gifts to you Gentiles. Yet the Jews are still beloved of God because of his promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. 29 For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn; he will never go back on his promises. 30 Once you were rebels against God, but when the Jews refused his gifts God was merciful to you instead. 31 And now the Jews are the rebels, but some day they, too, will share in God’s mercy upon you. 32 For God has given them all up to sin so that he could have mercy upon all alike. 33 Oh, what a wonderful God we have! How great are his wisdom and knowledge and riches! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his methods! 34 For who among us can know the mind of the Lord? Who knows enough to be his counsellor and guide? 35 And who could ever offer to the Lord enough to induce him to act? 36 For everything comes from God alone. Everything lives by his power, and everything is for his glory. To him be glory evermore.
1. The INTEREST OF CHRIST must prevail and be pushed always to avoid constant failure.
Prayer: Lord, pursue Your interest in my home. Let it be You in every plan, action, reaction and conversations. Be the centre of our thoughts, desires and interests at all times.
2. Constant feeding on the ROOT (CHRIST) . Be mindful and guard the nourishment from above.
Prayer: Lord, help us to stay connected and committed to You as a family. Help us to stay alert and walk closely with You in all matters. Let us all be mindful of Your inputs in our lives and cause us all to respond accordingly without holding back.
3. Have an absolute TRUST in God to make any dead branch / branches in our homes come alive.
Prayer: Lord, deliver us from anything that is crushing our branches as a family (loads of care, pressures of the world...). Breathe afresh on any branch that is dead; bring it to life again, established and rooted in the virtues of Heaven.
4. Be humble as a family of God and hate what God hates. Our homes are designed as Gospel platforms for other homes.
Prayer: Lord, help us to identify our giftings and calling as one family in Christ. Grant us the grace to step into our giftings, to keep them intact for Your glory. Help us not to take Your goodness for granted in our homes.
Lord, let everything that comes up in my home begin with You and ends up in You, Who is The Beginning and The Ending of all things.
Open our eyes to Your ways, and our ears to divine instructions on every issue. Help us not to forfeit the glory of Heaven for the glitters of the world.
Lord, please do an irreversible work on everyone that is named after my family, my home or anyone connected to my home in whatever capacity.

Homes - Return to Righteousness

Join this HeartCry Prayer- Every Tuesday 11.30am-2.30pm (UK time)

Psalm 1:1-6 (NKJV)

1Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.
3He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
5Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

1. There is a clear demarcation between homes that are truly established in Christ and those that are established in wickedness. The result of whatever choice of home we choose is right before us, and this choice is expected to carry us till eternity.

2. The struggle between sin and GRACE continues (Genesis 3:15), based on our choice – our homes may experience freedom in Christ or bondage from the devil. It is only homes that are truly driven by the standard of heaven that can experience the fullness of God in every area.

3. Homes that have been made the seat of wickedness of whatever form have fallen below the standard of godly homes. These homes find ways and means to support unrighteous acts in an attempt to help others.

What is controlling your home - the WORD or the world?
What is God's Word to my home?
What do I make of God's Word in my home?
What place does God's Word have in my home?

PRAYER
  • CONFESS HOUSEHOLD SINS AND REPENT ON BEHALF OF YOUR HOME AND FAMILY...
  • Lord, please have mercy on us and cleanse us from all forms of defilement. Make my home Your abode and not the centre of gossip. Lord, be the centre, the decision and the decision-maker.
  • Let there be a clear demarcation between righteousness and unrighteousness in my home. Make Your light shine in all matters of my home and be our vision as a family.
  • Let Your presence make the difference in my home at all times. Keep my household near the CROSS and establish us in the way of CALVARY and in the power of Your WORD.
  • Lord, as a family, help us to walk in the reality of the freedom the CROSS has given us over sin and all forms ungodliness. Establish us in Your righteousness.

Homes - Built for God's Blessings

Psalm 127

King James Version (KJV)

1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

The Living Bible (TLB)
1 Unless the Lord builds a house, the builders’ work is useless. Unless the Lord protects a city, sentries do no good.
2 It is senseless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, fearing you will starve to death; for God wants his loved ones to get their proper rest.
3 Children are a gift from God; they are his reward.
4 Children born to a young man are like sharp arrows to defend him.
5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. That man shall have the help he needs when arguing with his enemies.

God wants to redesign our Homes into the model suitable for His goodness. Our homes are to no purpose of God if they are not made fit for His blessings. God must be acknowledged in everything and in every area.
  • Prayer: Lord, I thank You for sustaining my home through thick and thin. Please, continue to be the CENTRE and the PILLAR that holds my Home.
  • Lord, make my Home fit for Your blessings. Please rid my Home of anything that does not add to the purpose of Heaven. Take away all vain things and grant us REST from our labour.

The focus of every family of God MUST be on divine supplies despite the work of our hands, not to focus on excessive care for the things of the world. Anything done outside the supremacy of God cannot last. It is only what God builds that He is able to keep till eternity.
  • Prayer: Lord, please establish my Home in the order of Heaven. Help us not to be carried away by the cares for the things of the world – help us not to major on the minor in our family relationship with You.

God is committed to both the comforts and the challenges we experience in our Homes. He brings our satisfaction, and at the same time, He bears our burdens. Unless God crowns our undertakings, everything will be done in struggle.
  • Prayer: Lord, deliver my Home from all forms of struggle. Grant us PEACE that teaches us to trust in You absolutely, and to know that our Homes have been configured in divine blessings.

God is both the BUILDER and KEEPER of every Home. He gives children as blessings to be instruments of good in every Home, to be serviceable in all capacities.
  • Prayer: Lord, please direct the abilities of our children aright for their generation, and generations after them. Make them arrows indeed in our hands, not arrows in our hearts. Baptise our Homes and the affairs of our Homes afresh with the power of the Holy Spirit.

Homes - Serve the True God!

God is committed to our Homes in every area. Our part of the commitment is to know Him and serve Him as the only ONE and TRUE GOD. Anything contrary to this will bring about self-destruction and attract the wrath of God.

God warns against serving any other god apart from Him – in form of family possessions, family idols or family worship. Exodus 23:24-25.

Exchanging the holy for the defiled, or mixing the two will open the door to family adversaries and activities of hell in our Homes.

*Inability to control our Homes in Christ will bring the 'beast' into our Homes*

God's judgement is upon the defilers of the families of God (Homes established in Christ). Therefore all the strange gods that we do not spare in our Homes will be taken care of when God visits- Jeremiah 10:10-11.

    Prayer:

    2nd Kings 17: 24-28
    • Lord, please help my Home to focus on You as the ONE and ONLY TRUE GOD. Help us to trust You all the way for our family needs in every area. Let us know what is expected of us as a family of God – release divine instructions to everyone in my household. Take us back to the place of giving honour and quality worship to You.
     2nd Kings 17:29-31
    • Lord, rid my Home of any self-worship or family religion/idols. Destroy all forms of customs that are not traceable to You. Pull down any strange altar(s) operating in my Home.
    2nd Kings 17:32-33
    • Lord, cleanse my Home from any lesser gods on assignment or those that are operating quietly in my family. Stop the activities of all household wickedness in my home.
      2ndKings 17:34-41
    • Lord, dethrone any direct or indirect idols that I have served, or offered untoYou knowingly or unknowingly. From now on Lord, please be the centre of my Home. Help us individually to know and serve You as THE TRUE GOD and then as a family. Teach us to know what to believe and how to behave as the family of God.

Homes - Armed by the Spirit of God's Love

Join this HeartCry Prayer- Every Tuesday 11.30am-2.30pm (UK time)

      1st Thessalonians 4:8-12
Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit. But concerning brotherly love you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another; and indeed you do so toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more; that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.

      Romans 5:5
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Christian homes are to exist worthy of the Message of the Gospel here on earth. The Spirit of God enlarges our hearts to love, and guards our lives in the love of God.

Being born of the Spirit of God, we are automatically able to go extra-mile in our family love and in our love for others. The Spirit of God's love helps us as a family to abstain from injustice, deceit, fraud, etc. to make our Message clean and our calling sure.

OUR MESSAGE IS PEACE, AND OUR CALLING IS TO LIVE PEACEABLY – Philippians 4:7 / Hebrews 12:14

      PRAYER:
      • Lord, please have mercy on my home (family, household, marriage...) in whatever form or shape we have not walked worthy of the Message that we carry as a family of God...(confess all forms of injustice, oppression, deceit, defilement, fraud, etc.)
      • Holy Spirit of God, please arm us with the weapons of God's love. Decorate our lives with the ornaments of the love of God, and beautify our homes with Your love.
      • Teach us to love unconditionally, against all the gimmicks of the devil, above all disturbances, troubles and negativities.
      • Lord, help my household not to reject You knowingly or unknowingly. Holy Spirit, do not withdraw from my home. Grant us deliberate calmness and quietness in all areas.

Homes Established by God's Kind of Love

Join this HeartCry Prayer- Every Tuesday 11.30am-2.30pm (UK time)

        1 Corinthians 13: 4-5 KJV
        Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

God is love. Christians are not to relax until the level of God's love is attained in their homes. Godly homes must ensure they are established in the pool of the properties attached to God's love.

        1.  Love suffers long:
It puts up with many slights, neglects and discouragements. It can endure all forms of resentment with no revenge in mind. It waits long to see the effect of its endurance.

Prayer – Lord,  please make my home firm. Empower us over angry words/actions. Let us experience the persevering patience that reforms the home.

        2.  Love is kind:
It is directed by the law that governs kindness. It is courteous, has a large heart and ever ready to show favours despite pains, hurts and disappointments.

Prayer - Lord, enlarge our hearts in God's love. Help us to be compassionate despite misunderstandings. Let Your love give us opportunities to do good and not seek revenge for hurts.

        3.   Love does not envy:
It suppresses evil feelings about the success of others. It is pleased with the good qualities in others and in all they do.

Prayer – God, help us to appreciate Your goodness and Your giftings in our household. Help us to support one another in identifying these giftings, so we can share and rejoice in them as one.

        4.   Love does not puff up:
It does not swell up because of achievements. It does not despise or trample on others.

Prayer – Lord,  please subdue every pride in our homes. Guide us by Your true love. Help us to esteem ourselves and raise the values of one another in Christ.

        5. Love does not behave unseemly:
It does not cross the boundary of decency. It does not behave out of place. It is respectful and does not break orders.

Prayer – Lord, please control our homes by the order of heaven. Let our Children be decent in every aspects of life. Remove the language of the world far from them.

        6.   Love does not seek its own:
It is not selfish. It does not seek its own pleasure to hurt or neglect others. It does
not seek satisfaction to the detriment of others.

Prayer – Lord,  mend all broken hedges in our homes. Help us to delight in You and honour You always. Let Christ be seen in every member of our homes, so as not to give room for the flesh in our daily affairs and dealings with ourselves in Jesus' name. AMEN!

        Proverbs 24:3-4

AMP: Through skilful and godly Wisdom is a house (a life, a home, a family) built, and by understanding it is established [on a sound and good foundation], And by knowledge shall its chambers [of every area] be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

ERV: Good homes are built on wisdom and understanding.Knowledge fills the rooms with rare and beautiful treasures.

ICB: It takes wisdom to have a good family. It takes understanding to make it strong. It takes knowledge to fill a home with rare and beautiful treasures.

        Psalm 127:1

TLB: Unless the Lord builds a house, the builders' work is useless.

MSG: If God doesn't build the house, the builders only build shacks.

        Prayer Points
        • Jesus is the wisdom of God. Please come and take permanent resident in my home (temple/heart).
        • Lord, help me to relinquish the building of my life/home/family to You. Let it become apparent to me that UNLESS JESUS is the Architect and Builder, ALL my building work is useless, futile and heaven concludes that it only amounts to shacks.
        • Restore to me all that I have lost whilst building my life, home, marriage without YOU.
        • Jesus, please correct any subtle or blatant error that was erected by me whilst building in the flesh.
        • Lord, help me to practically forsake ALL methods, wisdom or counsel that I imbibed from Mr. Flesh no matter the cost to me.
        • Grace to covet and be acquainted with the HOLY SPIRIT, grant unto me. I desire that the out working of the HOLY SPIRIT become evident in my home/life - My Guide, Counsellor, Advocate, Standby, Comforter, Adviser, Teacher, Intercessor and Strengthener. John 14:26
        • I will walk worthy of the Lord and please HIM in every way; bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God. Col. 1:10
        • Pray that you will progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with JESUS, perceiving, recognising and understanding the wonders of HIS person more strongly and more clearly. Phil. 3:10
        • Lord, help me believe and latch on to JESUS as the only compulsory ingredient needed in the success of my life/home/marriage. Don’t let my heart be deceived to think I need many things.
        • Open my understanding to see and know that inside JESUS is hidden ALL the treasures of wisdom and knowledge that is needful and applicable to my life/home. Col. 2:3
        • Lord, help me invest in knowing and walking with Christ; as this is the pre-requisite of establishing my life/home/marriage.

        God Give Us Christian Homes

Join this HeartCry Prayer- Every Tuesday 11.30am-2.30pm (UK time)

        Genesis 2:7-15
“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. 10 Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four riverheads.15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.

Vs 8 & 15  – God planted a garden and put the man in it to tend and keep it.
God is the founder of our homes! He planted our homes and put us there to tend and keep it inside Christ for His glory.

        • Thank God for the privilege of being planted into our homes and for the good plan that He has for each home.
        • Lord - Jesus Christ was faithful to God who appointed Him as Son over His own house. Help me to manifest the faithfulness of Jesus over the home You have put me in.
        • Grant grace and strength to stand firm on the platform of Calvary to the end, and perform my responsibility. ‘Sons’ must be brought to glory from my home. Please do not allow me to miss the purpose for which you planted my home, and put me in it.
        • God, give us Christian homes – true disciples’ homes –  where the order of God is upheld for the glory of God; where husbands love their wives sacrificially and they submit to each other, children obey, fathers  do not exasperate their children, mothers are tender-hearted and God is feared.

Vs 15  – to tend and keep it.
The full Gospel is the only tool that can be used to tend and keep our homes. Our responsibility to tend and keep God’s home means that the message of the cross must be preached in its fullness to everyone in our homes.

2 Timothy 4:2,5 "Proclaim the message, press it home on all occasions, convenient or inconvenient, use arguments, reproof, appeal, with all patience that the work of teaching requires.  But you yourself must be calm and sane at all times; face hardship, work to spread the Gospel and do all the duties of your calling." (NEB)
Leave nothing undone that you ought to do. (TLB)

        • Lord - Let my home be a place where the Bible is loved and taught; where the Mater's will is sought. Let my home be a conducive environment for the purpose of God to be established. Let my home be a place where the Gospel is preached when convenient or inconvenient - in season or out of season.
        • Let the message of the cross be proclaimed in me so that I can preach it with grace to my family. I cannot preach a crucified Christ if I myself am not crucified with Christ. Bring me into practical knowledge of “It’s no longer I that lives but Christ that lives in me.”
        • Take away fear from me and give me courage to use all opportunities wisely. Reveal my duty to me, and grant that all the ones you have entrusted to me (e.g. spouse, children, siblings) will be given to You in fruitful labour. (Like Hannah, who was entrusted with a son in order to give God a prophet).
        • Let every plant that the Lord has not planted be uprooted from my home in Jesus’ name. Matthew 15:13. Rid us completely of any form of waywardness. Deal with any form of disorder manifesting from my home. Let all things be done decently and in order in my home. 1 Cor. 14:40.
        • Help me to know that if the hedge is broken (due to lack of tending and keeping my home), the serpent will bite. Eccl. 10:8 KJV. Reveal where the hedge has been broken in my home and seal it with the blood of Your cross.
        • Grant that I will do all the duties of my calling in my home, leaving nothing undone.

Vs 10 – Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden.
Water for the Garden was also provided by God to keep the garden fertile.
Water represents the Word of God – Ephesians 5:26

Ezekiel 47:1, 3-5  “Then he brought me back to the door of the temple; and there was water, flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the front of the temple faced east; the water was flowing from under the right side of the temple, south of the altar. 3 And when the man went out to the east with the line in his hand, he measured one thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the water came up to my ankles. Again he measured one thousand and brought me through the waters; the water came up to my knees. Again he measured one thousand and brought me through; the water came up to my waist. 5 Again he measured one thousand, and it was a river that I could not cross; for the water was too deep, water in which one must swim, a river that could not be crossed.” (NKJV)

        • Thank You for giving us Your Word. Thank You that the Word became flesh. Let the Word become flesh in my home.
        • Cause us to be deep in the Word. We want to be totally submerged. Let Your Word shape our lives and the lives of our children.
        • Grant that our homes will be fertile ground for the fruit of the Spirit to grow, as the water of the Word flows into it from the temple of God.
        God, give us Christian homes!

        God give us Christian homes!
Homes where the Bible is loved and taught,
Homes where the Masters will is sought,
        Homes crowned with beauty Your love has wrought;
        God give us Christian homes;
        God give us Christian homes!

        God give us Christian homes!

Homes where the father is true and strong,
Homes that are free from the blight of wrong,

        Homes that are joyous with love and song;
        God give us Christian homes;
        God give us Christian homes!

        God give us Christian homes!
Homes where the mother, in caring quest,
Strives to show others Your way is best,
        Homes where the Lord is an honoured guest;
        God give us Christian homes;
        God give us Christian homes!

        God give us Christian homes!
Homes where the children are led to know
Christ in His beauty who loves them so,
        Homes where the altar fires burn and glow;
        God give us Christian homes;
        God give us Christian homes!

        Homes At Rest

Join this HeartCry Prayer- Every Tuesday 11.30am-2.30pm (UK time)

COME DRINK NEW WINE! OUR HOMES-Genesis 2

God’s desire for our homes is  - REST.

Characteristics of homes that are at rest:
        • Specimen of the Kingdom of God on earth, where the presence of the Holy Spirit is nurtured and the fruit is clearly seen.
        • The finished work of Christ on the cross is the foundation and Christ is the life of the home.
        • Grace, love, obedience, submission, righteousness and trust are the effortless.
        • Peace of mind, rejoicing in the spirit, no matter what.
Characteristics of homes that are restless:
        • Holy Spirit cannot stay because of works of the flesh.
        • The finished work of the cross is not received and self-life rules.
        • Values are on the ephemeral; things that do not endure to eternal life.
        • Disobedience, wickedness, unbelief, no trust.
        • Cannot cope with adversity.

        Prayer:
        • Lord, show us your eternal purpose for our homes.
        • Reveal Your divine pattern for my home as it was in the beginning.
        • Rescue my home from the restlessness of the old man and all his activities.
        • Help me to rise up and take responsibility to live out the Gospel and preach it to my family.
        • Flush out the old wine from my home and fill each of us to overflowing with the New Wine.

Lord, please bring my home into the rest of God through the power of the cross in the name of Jesus - Amen.
